Vayu Retreat was conceived as a place where restless minds will find a pause button to re-charge and rejuvenate, a place where one could slow down and ‘breathe’.

The world we live in is on an overdrive where every day streams in countless thoughts, ideas and emotions. The chase from one deadline to the other is depleting us of our internal energy. Increasingly the power of ‘self-heal’ no longer lies in the next technological invention nor in any medicine or in the click of any button. The answers lie in our strength to discipline our senses to ‘be in the moment and be one with nature’.

The Philosophy
The Deck

A brief stroll down from the cottage is The Deck - the perfect place to find your quietude. Perched at an elevation of almost 20 feet from ground, this wooden deck at the land’s end literally leaves you with a surreal joy of flying over the valley.

Mornings usually see a dollop of sunshine here while afternoons could witness a bit of drama as the clouds come shrouding the sun. There’s never really a dull moment under the shade of the ancient ‘kaafal’ tree that cradles the deck, you could choose to have endless rounds of lemon-ginger tea, sit-back, relax, read or do Yoga. Its the perfect place to enjoy a bit of stillness.

A large platform made laboriously with reclaimed ‘pataal’ ( local mountain stone), this is where you can bring in your sunset or come together for a bonfire on chilly evenings. The Deodar point is meant for those who’d like to sit at peace and perhaps catch up on work or for those who’d like to spend quality time with friends & family, taking in the stunning mountain vistas.
